Welcome to our first Year 7 wiki

where we will explore

 the Victorian Times.

Here are some points to help you structure a great Victorian report:

1: Give your work a title?

2: Write a general opening statement about your topic?

3: Have separate paragraphs for different aspects of your topic, e.g. dates, types jobs, diet, invention.

4:  Finish your work by writing a concluding statement.

5. Are there any diagrams or illustrations that would help?

(Remember to make sure your pictures are copyright free - there are lots of free sites, e.g.http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/primaryhistory/victorian_britain/

http://www.irishpotatofamine.org/flash.html

Language features to remember:

1: Use the present tense.

2: Use appropraite vocabulary linked to Victorian Times.

3: Don't personalise.

4: Be factual.

Here are the directions to help you make your own page and link it to the sidebar.

1.  Click on the link ‘Create a page’

2.  Name the page (keep the pages lowercase) and click ‘Create.’  Choose a template or keep blank

3. The page is created.  Type in some text and click on ‘Save’

4. Next make a link from the ‘Sidebar’ to the new page.  Click on ‘Edit the sidebar’

5. Type the name of the link into your list and highlight it.  Then click on the page you wish to link to under the ‘Insert Links’ panel.  Save your sidebar page and that’s all there is to it!
